What this trip is all about...

Our family has been desiring to go to India for some time and God has finally opened the doors for us to go! God is arranging everything for us and we are doing our best to follow where he leads, we are excited to see what He has for us.

We see this trip having two purposes.
1. To see where we as a family fit and get a clearer picture of what God wants us to do in the future
2.To visit a friend, explore her ministry and experience the culture of India!

Our friend's name is Sylvia Malakkil and she is part of a ministry called "Concern and Care". They don't have a website yet but are hoping to have one soon. I have known Silvia for about 3 years or so but only through E-mail so I am really excited to finally meet her in person and see all that she has written about for so long. She is an amazing person! Devoted to God, she really serves Him with all her heart. She was was born and raised in India, her father lost his money and became depressed and ill when she was young so her family became quite poor. Sylvia's mother was saved during this time and through her mother Sylvia herself came to know Jesus and began to long to help all the lost people in her city. She always thought she would do ministry after she was married but by 21 she was deep in ministry and now at 30 she still longs for a husband and kids. Some of what Sylvia is a part of includes 2 children's homes, 3 Tailoring school's for women, a handful of churches on the outskirts of the city, several slum bible studies, and teams being sent in to the university to evangelize to the students. To add to this, they hope to start a coffee shop and a daycare center in the future.

We are really looking forward to being a part of this ministry for a short time!!!

  3. Jaime ... just wanted to say how happy I am for you. You have dreamed of India since you were little and it is a blessing to watch God continue the work He began in you so long ago. He is faithful.

Huda ... just wanted to say how happy I am that you are Jaime's husband and that you, Jaime and Gideon can share in this adventure together. I'm sorry if I forget to tell you ALWAYS what a blessing it is to have you in the family.

    Love you all.
